The Innocence Project: A Call to Action

The Innocence Project: A Call to Action

Imagine spending 27 years in prison for a crime you did not commit.

Imagine your defense lawyer spending less than a day reviewing your case before trial.

To date, 351 men and women have been exonerated of crimes through DNA evidence.

We have made great strides in reducing injustice, but the work is not over!!

All members of the Collin County community are welcome to attend a panel presentation on wrongful convictions and injustices in our legal system. Three men, two of which spent 52 years in prison for crimes they did not commit, will accomplish two major goals in this presentation: 1) they will tell their personal stories about wrongful conviction, and 2) they will put out a call to action by informing the audience about how they can personally get involved in reducing injustice. Please bring your classes and please consider offering extra credit for attendance. Tell your students to bring their student ID with them as we will have a card swipe to prove their attendance. We will be providing pizza, desserts, and drinks while supplies last.

8:00 PM
Theatre: The Skin of Our Teeth

The Skin of Our Teeth
By Thornton Wilder

Winner of the 1943 Pulitzer Prize for Drama

Meet George and Maggie Antrobus of Excelsior, New Jersey, a suburban, commuter-town couple (married for 5,000 years), who bear more than a casual resemblance to that first husband and wife, Adam and Eve: the two Antrobus children, Gladys (perfect in every way, of course) and Henry (who likes to throw rocks and was formerly known as Cain); and their garrulous maid, Sabina (the eternal seductress), who takes it upon herself to break out of character and interrupt the course of the drama at every opportunity ("I don't understand a word of this play!")Whether he is inventing the alphabet or merely saving the world from apocalypse, George and his redoubtable family somehow manage to survive--by the skin of their teeth.

Showtimes vary, and tickets are required. More information is available at http://collin.universitytickets.com
