Art Gallery: Proof
Byrd Williams is a fourth generation photographer, Williams is best known for his urban work in the US and Europe. He produces extremely detailed photographs, usually as triptychs, using a very large format view camera. 
  
Williams has been teaching photography for 26 years in the photography/graphic design department at Collin College. Williams is a published writer and international artist whose work has been shown and collected at the Amon Carter Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the Stadt Museum of Trier Germany as well as many publications and collections throughout the US and Europe. For the year 1997, Byrd was selected as an artist in residence in Bad EMS, Germany and lived at Wagner's Castle the "Schloss Balmoral".  His work on the civic use of German, French, Belgian, English and Dutch street corners was featured on television and exhibited in several West German cities in 1997 and 2007.

Our certified registrars and community partners, the League of Women Voters (LWV) will be out, helping to facilitate all new voter registrations.  Popcorn will be available, and there will be FREE t-shirts for those who register to vote.  The event will take place on the Spring Creek Campus in the Atrium.

Department of Music Presents: UNT Jazz Singers

UNT Jazz Singers Perform on Wednesday, Sept. 27th at 12 pm in the Living Legend's Conference Center.  As part of the Music Department's weekly recital series, the famous jazz singers under the direction of Prof. Jennifer Barnes will perform jazz standards as well as fresh new arrangements.  Attendance is Free!

About UNT Jazz Singers
The University of North Texas Jazz Singers is the premier vocal jazz ensemble within the Division of Jazz Studies in the College of Music. Under the direction of Jennifer Barnes, Jazz Singers consists of twelve to fifteen vocalists and a four-piece rhythm section who perform a challenging and varied repertoire of jazz and jazz-influenced music, emphasizing close vocal harmonies, cutting-edge repertoire and improvisation. The ensemble was awarded “Outstanding Performance” as a Graduate-level Jazz Choir in the 2012 DownBeat Student Music Awards, and has been named the Collegiate Jazz Choir winner numerous times under the leadership of founding director, Paris Rutherford. UNT Jazz Singers has performed at state, national and international music conferences and festivals, including those for the Jazz Education Network, International Association for Jazz Education, the American Choral Directors Association and the Texas Music Educators Association. UNT Jazz Singers is one of four vocal jazz ensembles that are part of the comprehensive Vocal Jazz Studies major at UNT, which comprises a global student population of 25 – 35 students who pursue Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctoral level degree programs.
